Nodo Restaurant
Nodo is a Toronto-based Italian restaurant founded by a client who came with a clear vision, a chosen typeface, and the goal of building a multi-location dining experience inspired by his time in Italy. Working through Visual Inclination, I led the identity development and helped translate that vision into a cohesive brand system across signage, menus, and environmental details. Approach: The identity draws from Italian storefronts – simple geometry, bold forms, and typography with a sense of place. I extended this concept into physical touchpoints, designing and constructing custom wooden plank menu boards, establishing a specialty print workflow for unique menu sizes, and even modifying a crokinole table by hand to apply the brand. Menus were delivered in a format the client could update independently, ensuring long-term flexibility. Outcome: The brand scaled effectively across signage, menus, and in-restaurant details, creating a unified experience that supported the client’s vision for future expansion across multiple locations.
